This thread details proper trading etiquette. Failure to follow this etiquette may result in warnings, do be sure to read everything carefully. Users should report any violation of these rules to a moderator or an administrator.
Ownership of Items
Fairly simple. In order to trade a pet/item, you must OWN that pet/item or must be certain that you WILL OWN it later. Likewise, once you trade a pet/item, you no longer own it and your customer does.
Free Pets
Certain pets on Azwarg RP may be free- meaning that they are always available for any user to obtain in any number. These pets are not allowed to be traded because...well...they're free! There would be no point in trading them!
Notifying Staff of Trades
Whenever you trade a pet or item, you must go to the Record Books Board and post the trade in the proper category! For instance, all Azwarg trades would go to the Azwarg Ownershi Records. In a trade post, you must detail which pet is being traded (provide it's image and/or lineage) and to whom it's being traded. If you conduct another trade and your first trade post has not been accounted for yet, you may edit the first post instead of creating a new one.
Restrictions
A trader may place a restriction on a pet before trading it. Any buyers MUST follow the restrictions the trader desires. After the trader trades away the pet, the trader no longer has jurisdiction over that specific pet's restrictions and cannot change them later unless he/she obtains ownership of that specific pet again. The buyer is also NOT allowed to make restrictions looser after obtaining the pet, though he/she CAN make them stricter.
For example, User A says Pet X can only breed 3 times total. User B purchases Pet X. User B CANNOT say that Pet X can now breed 4 times, but User B CAN say that Pet X can now breed only 2 times. If User B keeps User A's restriction and breeds Pet X 1 time before trading Pet X to User C, User C CANNOT breed Pet X over 2 times because User A's restriction limits Pet X to a total of 3 breedings, regardless of owner.
Illegal Restrictions
These restrictions will be viewed as harassment, so DO NOT use these.
- "You must give this back to me if you don't want it anymore!" You may request that a user inform you if he/she wants to trade a pet/item you traded to him/her so you can offer on it, but the user cannot be forced to trade it back to you. If the pet/item winds up with a different user, the new owner does not have to inform you of possible trades.
- "You cannot trade this to a specific user or type of user!" While it is understandable that you may not want someone to get his/her hands on something of yours, there is a point where this just becomes bullying.
